SIU is increasingly active in the field of technology transfer and commercialization. Since 2000, SIU Carbondale and School of Medicine have disclosed 281 inventions, issued 64 licenses/options, filed 148 patent applications with a resulting 53 issued patents, and received $5.3 million in royalties.
